’German investors would help boost up textile industry’

KARACHI: Chairman Sindh Board of Investment Dr Asif A Brohi said that interest of German investors in textile sector of Pakistan would help further boost up the industry in Pakistan.

This he said while meeting with the German delegation from M/s C.MELCHERS GMBH & CO.KG headed by Dirk Saenger, Managing Partner, who visited Sindh Board of Investment.

Mr Dirk Saenger giving detailed introduction of his company, briefed that the company look forward to help in value addition of textile sector of Pakistan. He said that they provide knowledge about the German technology and soft skills to local labour. He also appreciated the role of SBI in supporting foreign investors in Pakistan as one window facilitator.

Earlier, Director General SBI Iftikhar Ali Shallwani gave a detailed presentation about all the projects and facilities providing by SBI to the investors. He elaborated that under Special Economic Zone Act, investors would enjoy 10 years tax holiday and one time exemption of duties on imported machineries.

He further said that there is a huge leather production sectors in Sindh where immense possibilities and potentials of investment are available. On the occasion, Head of Hamburg office, Armin Gesse, and Country Manager for Pakistan liaison office, Mohammad Saifullah Al-Tarek, and other officers of SBI were also present in the meeting.
