10200 applications for 2505 seats in NED

KARACHI: NED University of Engineering and Technology’s (NEDUET) administration on Tuesday announced the date for admissions’ entry test for Bachelors Degree in various programs on August 30, for the academic session 2015-16.

Chairman on admissions’ committee and Dean (Chemical & Process Engineering) Prof Dr Mohammad Tufail said that they had received 10200 applications from male and female candidates for admissions in various programs offered at this campus.

He said 2005 seats are available under regular scheme while 500 under Self-finance Scheme for all students who possess Sindh’s domicile and 140 seats will be reserved for Pakistan Basis.

He said university had introduced new procedure of admissions and it has uniqueness across the province. He said this year admissions’ form were not given choices to select the technologies before the test but the merit list for all candidates would be made as per their entry test and Board’s results and they would be given their choices at the time of interview. He said in this way they can decide what is better for them and in which technology they can perform better.

He said students can also choose newly introduced technologies for this year including Textile Sciences, Management Sciences, Development Studies, Computational Finance, Applied Physics and Industrial Chemistry.
