20 French scholarships for Sindh students

Karachi: France has assured to provide grant for 20 scholarships for deserving and needy students belonging to less developed districts of Sindh in the faculties of Engineering and Business Administration.

Mrs. Martine Herlem-Hamidi, Cultural and Cooperation Counsellor of French Embassy, Islamabad told this in a meeting with Senior Minister for Education & Literacy Nisar Ahmad Khuhro in his office on Thursday.

The meeting was a follow up of a meeting held on 21st April, 2014 between Philippe Thiebaud, Ambassador of France in Pakistan with Senior Minister for Education & Literacy regarding grant of scholarships to the deserving students of Sindh.

Under this scholarship program the needy / deserving students of the province of Sindh who have gotten admission in prestigious and reputed institutions of Pakistan would be eligible to apply.

Admission fees and other expenses during the course of study will be borne by France Government. The France Counsellor further assured that the number of scholarships would be increased in coming years.

Secretary, (Endowment) Hanif Muhammad Merchawala was nominated as focal person of this programme.
