3.9m given measles vaccination in Sindh

Karachi:,,, Over 3.9million children have been administrated measles vaccination across the Sindh province so far.

These views were expressed by Special Secretary Health (Admin) Dr Mansoor Abbas Rizvi during a media briefing on the measles campaign. Project Manager EPI Dr Mazhar Khamisani was also present on this occasion.

Rizvi informed 3918,000 children have given measles vaccination and 250,000 children also administrated polio vaccination during the ongoing measles emergency campaign started from 19th May that will continue till 31st May 2014.

He informed that teams have achieved 31 percent target in the first three days. He said 1828,501 children from six months to 5 five years age and around 2090,000 children of five years to 10 years age group have been administrated measles vaccine so far.

EDO Health Karachi Zafar Ejaz informed that 396,037 children have been vaccinated in Karachi in last three days. He said 1709 teams are participating in measles vaccination drive in the city.
