30 terrorists killed in operation: Home Minister

QUETTA: Thirty terrorists and FC Subedar were killed in massive search operation in difficult mountainous areas adjacent to Sui against terrorist organisations. Search operation has been launched in retaliation of attack on Pakistan Rangers Sindh.

This was stated by Provincial Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti at a Press conference here Thursday.

In view of sensitivity of operation Inspector General Frontier corps Balochistan Major General Muhammad Ejaz Shahid was personally carrying aerial surveillance. Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani and Spokesman of FC Balochistan were also present.

Home Minister said in fact this massive search operation was in retaliation of attack on Pakistan Rangers in Kandh Kot (Sindh) on June 3 besides attacks on passenger trains and security forces, blowing gas pipelines, rail tracks and electricity towers, abduction for ransom and creating hurdles in national development projects. In the attack on Sindh Rangers two officials were martyred and 7 injured.

Operation was conducted by Sui rifles and Sibi Scouts of Frontier Corps Balochistan in Rustam Darbar and Darinjan Nullah adjacent to Sui. Camps of terrorists in the area were encircled early in the morning. Terrorists hiding there opened indiscriminate fire on security forces. Resultantly security forces returned the fire. A heavy exchange of fire took place. Terrorists used automatic weapons, Mortar shells, rocket launchers and hand grenades.

In the operation 30 terrorists were killed. Two of them were identified as Commander Sattar and Commander Bokhlani. They were terrorists of Baloch Republican Army. Seized from their possession were modern telephone sets, explosives (350 Kg), mines (50), rounds in thousands, Thuraya phone and IEDs along with antenna. Their eight hideouts and camps were demolished Sensitive documents, modern telephone sets and other goods recovered from their hide outs of these terrorists indicate they enjoyed full support of intelligence agencies of our eastern and western countries.

During an operation conducted a day earlier four of the terrorists killed were identified as Wahid, Qurban, Zahid Marhata and Number Ten.

During the operation FC Subedar Noor Hussain embraced shahadat when he was hit during exchange of fire. Eight jawans were also injured. They were shifted to CMH by helicopter.

Several abducted persons were also recovered from their clutches who were kidnapped for ransom. Helicopters were also used for supply and reinforcement of forces and ration and evacuation of injured people.

Home Minister said that extremists following foreign agenda were targeting innocent people for their ulterior motives to destabilize the country by spreading lawlessness in Balochistan. But FC would not allow their dream to come true.

He reiterated optimism that no sacrifice would be spared to make the province peaceful and exemplary and the day is far away when terrorists and saboteurs would be eliminated from the province.
