400-bed hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal soon

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said on Thursday that 400 bedded hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal will be functional in the mid of 2016 with the cost of Rs 1736 million, while another summary of Rs50 million has been submitted to CM Sindh to complete the project as soon as possible.

This he said while presiding over a meeting regarding construction of the hospital here in his office. Secretary Health Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo, EDO Health Karachi Dr Zafar Aijaz, Executive Engineer Works and Services Mukhtar Soomro, Deputy Director Dr. Shaista and other officers also attended the meeting.

He said that the slow pace in construction had been noticed and the contractor concerned had been warned as well. He directed to functional OPD in first phase so that people of the area might get benefit while other wards would be made operative gradually.

Dahar added, “Health department will take control of the health projects in the province and report regarding construction of the hospitals must be submitted in two days because during his visit he observed slow pace of work. He said the hospital will provide General OPD, consulting clinics, lab and other diagnostic facilities, blood bank, specialized facilities as of CT Scan, MRI, Dialysis Unit, Neonatal Unit, Endoscopy and Emergency centre as well.
