5 officers given magisterial powers

Karachi: The Government of Sindh, Home Department has appointed the following officers as Special judicial Magistrates with the power of First Class Magistrate with immediate effect and till 11-03-2015.

They were Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman, Deputy Commissioner, District Central Karachi; Farhan Ghani, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I, District Central Karachi; Mushtaq Ahmed Shaikh, Assistant Commissioner, Gulzar-e-Hijri (Scheme-33), District East Karachi; Sirajuddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I, District Korangi Karachi; and Mohammad Khan Soomro, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I, District Tharparkar.

However, the powers of Special Judicial Magistrate assigned to Ghulam Farooq Leghari, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Central Karachi, Muumtaz Ali Channa, Assistant Commissioner Gulshan-e-Iqbal East Karachi, Syed Hassan Raza Zaidi, AC Shah Faisal District Korangi Karachi and Imran Bhatti, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II, Tharparkar has been withdrawn with immediate effect.

In this regard Home Department, Government of Sindh has issued a notification on Thursday.
