54% Pakistanis say they have confidence in television; 43% say the opposite: Poll

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 54% Pakistanis say they have confidence in television; 43% say the opposite.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “Could you tell me how much confidence you have in Television?” Responding to this, 13% said they had a great deal of confidence in television, 41% said quite a lot of confidence, 26% replied not very much and 17% said none at all. 3% did not respond.

A similar survey was conducted in China where 15% said they had a great deal of confidence in television, 50% said quite a lot of confidence and 23% said not very much.

2% said none at all and 10% did not respond. When the same question was asked in Qatar, 44% said they had a great deal of confidence in television, 34% said quite a lot of confidence, 19% replied not very much and 3% said none at all.

In the United States, 2% set a great deal of confidence in the institution, 22% said quite a lot and 61% said not very much. 13% of the respondents said none at all and 2% did not respond.
