61% believe their current economic situation is better than that of their ancestors a generation ago,Poll

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, majority Pakistanis (61%) believe their current economic situation is better than that of their ancestors a generation ago.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “Keeping in mind your current financial situation, please tell us that is your present economic situation better than or worse than your ancestors’ situation 40 to 50 years ago.

Some people say that their economic situation in comparison to their ancestors’ is better while others believe it is worse. What is your opinion?” Responding to this, 20% it is a lot better now, 41% said somewhat better and 16% replied the same. 14% said their financial situation is somewhat worse now whereas 9% said it is a lot worse.
