76 profiteers fined Rs99400

KARACHI: In a crackdown on profiteers, 76 shopkeepers were charged with Rs 99400 fine for selling commodities above government rates. Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that the campaign launched against profiteers would continue till they ensured that the commodities were sold at fixed rates. In the crackdown, 32 milkmen, 16 shopkeepers of general commodities, four chicken sellers, 13 vegetable sellers and 11 fruit sellers were fined for selling essential items at excessive prices.
