Abdur Rehman clinches silver medal in Commonwealth Youth Games

Karachi: Weightlifter Abdur Rehman clinched silver medal for Pakistan in 77-Kg weight category of 5th Commonwealth Youth Games weightlifting event at Tuana’ Imato Sports Complex Apia in Samoa.

According to reports made available here, Abdur Rehman faced stiff resistance from weightlifters of Cameron, Scotland and host Samoa before reaching to the podium.

Abdur Rehman performed well by lifting 106 Kg in Snatch, 136 Kg in Clean+Jerk with a total of 242 Kg, which helped him secure silver medal for Pakistan.

This is the second biggest victory for Abdur Rehman. Earlier in January this year, he won gold medal at Asian Youth Weightlifting Championships held at Doha, Qatar.
