Accused remanded to police custody in explosives case

KARACHI: An Anti Terrorism Court-III (ATC-III) on Thursday remanded an accused, Mohammad Kamran, to police custody till 8 October 2014 in an explosives material and illegal weapon case.

Police produced the accused before ATC-III judge under tight security.

Investigation officer requested the court that police needed his investigation and physical custody to map out his connections and other accomplices in the crime. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to police custody till 8 October.

According to police, accused was arrested within the jurisdiction of Eidgah police Station on 1 October.

Police claimed to have recovered a hand grenade and illegal arms from the accused possession.

The case FIR 204/2014 was lodged under Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance and 23IA of the illegal weapons Act at the Eidgah police station
