Accused remanded to police in explosive case

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday remanded an accused Abdullah to police on physical custody till 15 April 2015 in explosives material possession case.

Police produced the accused before the ATC judge under tight security. The investigation officer requested the court to allow physical remand of the accused as he was required for investigation to trace his connections. IO requested the court that police needed accused custody to trace the source of supply and source of delivery. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to them on physical custody till 15 April.

According to prosecution, the police arrested the accused within the jurisdictions of Mochko police station and recovered explosives material from his possession.

The case FIR 96/15 was registered at Mochko police station under Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substances Act read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
