Accused remanded to police in explosives case

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday remanded an accused Abdullah to police custody till 15th March 2015 in explosives material possession case.

Police produced the accused before the ATC judge under tight security. The investigation officer requested the court to allow physical remand of the accused as he was required for investigation to trace his connections. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to their custody till 15th March.

According to prosecution, the police arrested the accused within the jurisdictions of Zaman Town police station and recovered explosives material from his possession.

The case was registered at Zaman Town police station under Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substances Act read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
