Accused remanded to police till 23rd Feb

KARACHI: An Anti-terrorism court (ATC) remanded an accused Bilal to police custody till 23rd February 2015 in attempt to murder and encounter cases.

Police produced the accused before the ATC judge under tight security. The investigation officer requested the court to allow the physical remand of the accused as he was required for investigation. IO requested the court that police needed the physical remand of the accused to trace his connections. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to their custody till 19 February.

According to prosecution, Malir city police arrested the accused after an encounter near National Highway within the jurisdiction of Malir city police station.

The case 8/15 was registered at Malir city police station under section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 324 (attempt to murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
