Administration of Bacha Khan University rejects the findings of probe committee

Peshawar: Administration of Bacha Khan University on Monday rejected the probe committee report formed by apex committee and decided not to open the university till full proof security measures are not taken in the university.

In a crucial meeting held in the chair of Vice Chancellor Fazal Rahim Marwat held the higher education commission responsible for the tragic incident. The meeting which was participated by administrative and teaching staff vowed if action against the Vice Chancellor and security chief of the university was taken then demand would be made to hold all officials responsible for D.I .Khan jail and other terrorist incidents in the country.

Briefing media, registrar of Bacha Khan University Professor Hamidullah and spokesman of the university Saeed Khan Khalil said the university administration yet to receive the probe committee’s report and they have come to know about the findings of the report only through media.

“Teaching process in the university will not be started till full proof security arrangements are not taken,” the administration vowed demanding of the interior ministry to provide 25 trained guards for the security of the university, they informed.

They said that higher education commission is responsible for the tragic incident in the university as financial grant for the university had been demanded many times but Higher Education Commission (HEC) turned a deaf year towards these demands.

They said that if government wants to probe the incident then judicial inquiry of the incident should be held to fix the responsibilities.

On this occasion the university administration announced Rs 30 each for the security guards for the gallantry against the attackers and also announced Rs 100 thousands each for the heirs of the martyrs.
