KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui has assured that Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) would take necessary measures for improving infrastructure in the Landhi industrial zone, including repairing of roads and removal of encroachments.
Farooqui said this during a meeting with the delegation of Landhi Association of Trade & Industry (LATI) at his office on Wednesday.
Director General Technical Services Niaz Ahmed Soomro, Senior Director Municipal Services Ghulam Rasool, Senior Director Land & Chairman Anti-encroachments Task Force Bilal Manzar and other officers were also present on the occasion.
Chairman of LATI Ziyad Bashir, who led the delegation, said industrial units in this zone were playing important role in the national industrial sector, therefore, problems of this area should be resolved soon.
The administrator said KMC was paying special attention to the solution of the civic problems of all the city areas especially industrial zones,
Farooqui directed Soomro to bring improvement in the infrastructure of Landhi industrial zone.
He also instructed Manzar to take practical measures for removal of encroachments in the Landhi industrial zone.
“Payment of municipal services charges should be ensured in order to help improve the infrastructure of the area and provision of municipal services,” he said to the industrialists and traders.
Farooqui said that he would personally visit the industrial zone next week and practical steps would be taken for resolving the problems of the area.
