Administrator directs to give land retrieved in Johar to allottees

KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has directed to give back the reclaimed land from land mafia in Gulistan-e-Johar Block 6 to original allotees on 17th August.

“The people who have got documents should immediately contact, take possession of their land and start construction. This is a good news on the occasion of independence celebrations for the people who had been deprived of land. KMC has retrieved land for them,” he said while addressing a meeting with departmental heads.

The plots of 600 square feet were auctioned while rest of them given to the people through lucky draw. As most of the affectees had already been given alternative lands, therefore most of the 30 acre land would be vacant which would be sold on new rates, said the KMC administrator.

“This sale would generate millions of rupees and improve monetary situation of KMC, hence employees will get salary and pensions on time,” he said.

Siddiqui directed the entire revenue department to bring change in their behavior and measures to increase revenue and strengthen KMC.

Local taxes and land department had much space to improve wealth position of KMC. The monitoring system was tight. Officers should bring improvement in their performances.
