Administrator leaves for Colombo

Karachi: Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhter Farooqui along with Senior Director Municipal Services Masood Alam on Monday left for Colombo on a visit to attend the integrated conference of BAQ 2014 and Intergovernmental 8th Regional EST Forum in Asia hosted by the Sri Lankan ministries in collaboration with the United Nations Centre for Regional Development and other international agencies.

This conference will make declaration involving all Asian countries for zero congestion, zero pollution and zero accident. Representatives from more than 300 countries will present their paper in line with Kyoto Protocol as this 8th conference significant is to explain global leaders the problem facing by this city of 23 million people and how to overcome the challenges.

Administrator Farooqui during his participation in the conference will talk on the measures taken by the municipal authorities in Karachi to overcome the problem of environmental pollution, congestion and accidents and he will also apprise them with the future planning in this connection.
