AIGP orders extraordinary security for Shab-e-Baraat

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo on Thursday directed district SSPs to ensure extraordinary security and traffic measures on the eve of Shab-e-Baraat.

He said at police station level, legal action should be taken against people involved in manufacturing and selling fireworks on Shab-e-Baraat.

AIGP also said that extraordinary security measures at main graveyards, shrines, mosques, imambargahs and madaris should be provided.

Thebo instructed traffic police to devise proper plan for parking areas at graveyard besides arranging alternate routes for visitors of graveyard.
