AIR CHIEF AWARDS CASH PRIZE TO MARIA TORPAKAI

ISLAMABAD: Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, who is also the President of Pakistan Squash Federation, awarded cash prize to Pakistan Squash player Maria Torpakai for her victory in recently concluded 2nd Bahria Town International Women Squash Championship.

She won the closely contested final after beating South Africa’s Siyoli Walter with the game score 11/9, 11/7, 6/11, 10/12 and 12/10.

The Air Chief appreciated the performance of Maria Torpakai and other young players for bringing laurels to the country.

He also lauded the efforts of Pakistan Squash Federation’s coaching staff for giving proper training and guidance to the Pakistani squad. The President PSF reiterated that PSF would continue sponsoring top squash players for improving their world rankings.
