Al-Khidmat celebrates 2015 as ‘water year’

KARACHI: On the eve of 22 March, the World Water Day, Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan has announced to celebrate the 2015 year as a ‘water year’ with the theme of “Saaf Pani, Mehfooz Zindagi” and organize awareness walks and pictorial exhibitions in this regard all over the country.

This was decided in the two-day meeting of AL-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan General Council which was presided over by their President Abdul Shakoor while Senior President Ahsan Waqas, General Secretary Shaid Iqbal and other office-bearers were present.

The meeting reviewed the performance of different sections of Al-Khidmat and developed strategy and action plan for their new projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Shakoor said the aim to celebrate 2015, as water year is to aware people regarding the importance of clean water. He said unclean water is dangerous for human health and main cause of different diseases.

Shakoor said Al-Khidmat along with holding awareness campaigns is also working on disaster management, public health, clean water, sponsoring orphans and other projects in social service sector.
