Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital’s bed capacity to be increased to 1100

SIALKOT: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has approved a project of upgrading the Govt. Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot by increasing its beds capacity to 1100 from existing 400 beds.

MPA Ch. Muhammad Ikram disclosed this while talking to the newsmen here Friday. DCO Iftikhar Ali Sahu, DOC Malik Abid Hussain Awan and Principal Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College were present on this occasion.

MPA said that the construction of 100 beds well equipped Cardiac Unit at Govt. Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot would be completed very soon for providing the better medical health care facilities to local heart patients at local level.

Meanwhile, the District government of Sialkot has given dead line for completion of construction of the Academic and Admin Block and Boys hostel buildings at Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College till the June 30, 2014.

DCO Sialkot, Iftikhar Ali Sahu reviewed the pace of construction of this project, advising the concerned officials to jazz up the construction pace for ensuring the timely completion of the construction work till June 30, 2014.
