Altaf Hussain condemns attack on MQM MNA Rashid Godel

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s founding leader Altaf Hussain on Tuesday condemned armed attack on his party’s MNA Rashid Godel in Karachi that left him seriously injured and killed his driver.

According to MQM release, Altaf Hussain said: “I condemn this unprovoked attack which has left one man dead and another fighting for his life. All of our thoughts are with Mr Godil and his family at this time.”

The party’s statement said: “We are aware that MQM MNA Rashid Godil has been attacked when arriving home by car this morning at approximately midday Karachi time. Godil’s car was intercepted by two unknown assailants riding a motorcycle who fired a number of shots into his vehicle. He has been transferred to hospital with critical injuries. Regrettably his driver died at the scene.”
