Alvi wants steps against polio

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and member National Assembly Dr Arif Alvi on Saturday urged government to fulfil its responsibilities above politics for eradication of polio virus from the country and take practical steps in this regard.

He said that while visiting free measles vaccination camp held by workers of PTI here in Manzoor Colony. The lawmaker regretted that the federal government was not showing sincerity in solving public issues and said that government failure in eradication of polio virus had injured reputation of Pakistan in the world.

He said that beside government educational institutes, seminaries and religious scholars would also have to play vital role for elimination of polio from the country.

He said that PTI workers were actively taking part in social activities beside their political responsibilities as it was part of PTI manifesto.
