AMUOBA members congratulate Malala

KARACHI: President Engr Muhammad Adil Usman and members of the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association (AMUOBA) on Sunday congratulated Malala Yousafzai on winning the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her struggle against the oppression of children and young people, and for the right of all children to education.

Malala Yousafzai, aged 17, thus becomes the youngest Nobel Prize winner so far.

Pakistani female education activist, Malala Yousafzai, is known mainly for human rights advocacy for education and for women in her native Swat Valley. Later her advocacy turned into an international movement.

The fact is that Malala is promoting the mission of the distinguished scholar Sir Syed Ahmed Khan who had initiated Aligarh Movement and laid foundation to Aligarh Muslim University, to create awareness of education among the Muslims of South Asia and lace them with contemporary education. Malala is encouraging this cause with great enthusiasm and young spirit.
