ANF seizes hashish worth Rs8bn

KARACHI: Anti-narcotics Force (ANF) in its drive against drug trafficking seized huge consignment of hashish weighing 3.37 tons, worth Rs 8 billion approximately in international market. The drug consignment was intended to be smuggled abroad across the sea.

According to details, ANF Quetta on pursuance of an intelligence report, raided a desolate site situated at Killi Salman Khel, Tehsil Gulistan, Qilla Abdallah and seized 3373 Kg hashish during the operation.

The hashish was stocked at a barren site located inside the chain of complex mountains outside the populated area. It was stuffed in plastic bags.

As per preliminary reports, the drug consignment was kept at a cache site for handing over to another narcotics gang. After receipt of safe signal, this hashish consignment had to be shifted to some location at coastal belt of Balochistan for final disposal to some foreign destination via sea route.

A case has been registered against at respective ANF police station and further investigation is under way.
