Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labour and Mineral Development, Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli has directed the authorities concerned to take immediate measures for the restoration of financial support to students enrolled under scholarship scheme in order to secure their academic carrier adding that it was the responsibility of Federal Board of Revenue to collect the contribution from concerned industry.
This she stated while presiding over a high level meeting regarding the suspension of scholarship grant of students enrolled under scholarship scheme in various educational institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Beside others, member National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Dr. Azhar Jadoon, Advisor to Chief Minister Akbar Ayub and Director Workers Welfare Board attended the meeting.
On this occasion, Provincial Minister, Anisa Zeb sought details about the issue. She was told that children of the servants of telephone industry of Pakistan were provided an opportunity of scholarship on behalf of the industry’s contribution to the department concerned. But, unfortunately, the industry could not maintain its contribution that was why the scholarships have been suspended.
Anisa Zeb said the issue should immediately be taken with the concerned federal authorities because it was injustice to leave the students support less in middle of their career. Dr. Azhar Jadoon, on this occasion also expressed his commitment to take the issue on the floor of National Assembly and said that the entitled students would certainly be provided with their rights.
