Peshawar: The Malgari Doctoran Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a former ANP affiliated doctor wing on Monday demanded of PTI government to fulfil its commitment about brining reforms in health sector.
Provincial President of Association Dr Saeedur Rehman said addressing to news a news conference at Peshawar Press Club PTI had promised to bring reforms in health and education sector before election and people voted PTI to bring such change but this promise yet to be materialized.
He said that it is the improving health sector is much important duty of the government as after 18th amendment it now a provincial subject.” This PTI government has completely been failed to introduce a comprehensive health policy in the province” he said .
Dr Rahman alleged provincial government for misusing of funds under Sehat Ka Insaf Programme saying that the program was launched without the consent of health department . He said the special health initiative, had carried out under specific motive and agenda, which didn’t make any improvement in the health sector.
Referring about the PPHI program, he alleged the PTI central leader Jehangir Khan Tareen, whose running a private organization, has intended to run the People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) program under public-private partnership in KP, which would be badly affected functioning of medical staffs.
He also expressed dissatisfaction over the appointment of chief executives of teaching hospitals saying these appointments had been made against merit.
He urged for resolution of all the problems being faced by doctors’ community including regularization of services of and security. He demanded dissolution of National Health Institute (NIH) Islamabad and it is to be replaced by autonomous PMDC in all provinces.
