ANTI-Corruption establishment releases report

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anti-Corruption Establishment, during the last 8 months, has detected in investigation the loss of Rs. 1.14 Billion to the Government ex-chequer, out of which, Rs. 7.748 Million have been recovered from the accused officers/officials and the rest were in recovery process.

In a performance report, released by the department, Tuesday, 138 cases were registered/ arrest warrants were issued against 524 accused officers/ officials of the Provincial Departments and most of the cases were submitted to Special Courts of anti-corruption for trial, while investigation in the remaining were being completed.

It may be recalled that the incumbent administration of the anti-corruption establishment, since May, 2014, has geared up the existing staff with new spirit and zeal to curb the menace of corruption from all walks of life on emergency basis, the report added. Ends PPI
