A woman petitioner, Samar Sultana, named Vice chancellor Karachi university, syndicate and Dr Sameena Saeed as respondents.

The petitioner pleaded the court that she was appointed in the political science department of the university five years before the appointment of Dr Sameena Saeed. However Sameena was declared senior to her.

Meanwhile University’s administration appointed Dr Sameena instead of her as caretaker head of the department. “Being a senior it is my right to become the head of the political science department of the Karachi university”, she pleaded the court.

SHC bench headed by Justice Muneeb Akhter took up the petition and issued notice to assistant advocate general to file the comments on next hearing which is scheduled on 20th August.
