Karachi: Areeba Hanif played an impressive 66-run knock while Ayesha Zafar scored 47 runs to play pivotal role in Karachi Blues formidable ten-wicket win against Karachi Greens in the summit clash of the inaugural PCB Inter District regional under -21 Women Cricket Tournament here at State Bank Ground on Tuesday.
Karachi Greens batted first in the match and scored a modest total of 122-1 in 20 overs. Omaima Sohail batted well for the side with 56 runs. Huraina Sajjad also batted well for the side contributing 48 runs.
Karachi Blues in response achieved the target scoring 126 runs without losing a single wicket in 19.4 overs. Areeba smashed seven boundaries while Ayesha smashed four boundaries to lead their side to a convincing victory.
Chief Guest Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi, President Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) distributed the prizes to the participating teams. Areeba Hanif received Omar Associates Player of the Final and also best batter award. Meanwhile, best bowler and best wicketkeeper awards went to Ayesha Amjad and Mariam Bukhari respectively.
Naz Alam Sherazi, representative PCB women wing Karachi, Shafiq Kazmi Secretary KCCA, Azam Khan, Shafiq Ullah, Muhammad Waseem and Khalid Jamil were also present on the occasion.
