NAUNDERO: The 8th death anniversary of slain PPP chairperson Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto will be observed in a befitting manner in Garhi Khuda Bux on December 27. Arrangements in this regard are underway as the party expects millions of people to arrive from all four provinces of the country.
In this connection, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah visited the Bhutto mausoleum on Sunday evening and went through the ground where a mammoth public gathering will be held, which will be addressed by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other top PPP leadership.
Sindh chief minister presided over a meeting of Mazar Committee in which party’s district leadership, and divisional & district administration officers also took part. He briefed him about the requirements and arrangements so far made. Shah directed the Deputy Inspector General of Larkana Range Dr. Sain Rakhio Mirani to ensure foolproof security and traffic arrangements to prevent any untoward incident and ensure smooth flow of traffic by preparing a detailed plan.
Commissioner Ghulam Akbar Laghari informed the chief minister about the arrangements, including cleanliness, drinking water facilities, washrooms, availability of standby heavy duty diesel generator in case of electricity failure, parking plan, fire brigade and installation of walkthrough gates.
Shah directed the officers and party leaders to establish welcome camps at all entry points so that incoming activists could be informed about the roads leading to final resting place of Bhutto leaders. He claimed that millions of people from all parts of the country will arrive here to participate in the mega event, specially from Sindh. The chief minister directed his party workers and leaders to properly take care of all the guests so that they should not face any difficulty. Shah further directed that development works of roads leading to Garhi Khuda Bux should also be completed on emergency basis and assured the participants that he will soon come and review the arrangements. DC Javed Jagirani, SSP Kamran Nawaz Panjotha and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
