ISLAMABAD: A key accused in the attack on Shuja Khanzada was arrested by the counter-terrorism department Punjab (CTD). The accused identified as Mohammad Qasim is a resident of Attock.
According to a report quoting spokesman for the CTD the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Qari Sohail group was involved in the suicide attack which claimed the life of Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada.
The report added that the mastermind of the attack was Qari Sohail who had sent the suicide bombers. It said Qari Sohail used Qasim Muavia, Amjad Fayyaz, Sadaqat and Saddam as suicide bombers.
On August 16, Col (r) Shuja Khanzada was among at least 19 people killed when suicide bombers attacked his political office in his native village in Attock district.
