Arts Institute soon at Frere Hall

KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui has said on Thursday that Karachi Metropolitan Corporation would establish an arts institute at the historical Frere Hall where diploma course would be offered to youth in various arts discipline including painting, calligraphy etc.

The famous monument by artist Azar Zubi which was shifted from the intersection of Tariq Road and Shara-e-Quaideen due to widening of road was being relocated at Jail Chowrangi, he added.

Farooqui said this while speaking as a chief guest at the inauguration of art exhibition of renowned artist Ms Zebin Zubi (Zaibunnisa) at Frere Hall.

Senior Director CSR Rehan Khan, Director Culture Tariq Naseer and other officers were also present on this occasion.

The exhibition comprising 37 art pieces would continue till 12th May (Monday).

The administrator appreciated the work of artist community who he said highlighted the norms and trends of our society and showed it in an effective way. He specially praised Zubi’s work for presenting the women in excellent manner.
