KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday acquitted two accused Mohammad Azhar and Faryad in money extortion case and issued show cause notice to IO Raja Zafar over poor investigation into the case.
ATC judge pronounced the verdict after recording the evidences, statements of witnesses and hearing arguments from both sides.
ATC found both the accused not guilty of demanding extortion and hurling threats of killing in case of non-payment.
According to the prosecution, there were charges against the accused that they demanded extortion of Rs 5,000 from factory manager in Shershah area on 9th December 2013.
ATC acquitted both the accused due to lack of evidences against them and issued show cause notice to IO Raja Zafar over poor investigation in the case.
