ATC hands over alleged Al-Qaeda member to CTD

KARACHI: An Anti Terrorism Court on Tuesday handed over an alleged Al-Qaeda member to Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh for 90-day preventive detention.

Counter Terrorism Department produced an alleged Al-Qaeda member Khalid Yousuf before the court under strict security.

According to the, Investigation Officer (IO) Khalid Yousuf was arrested on the identification of accused already arrested in Safoora Bus Carnage. The accused used to provide finical aid to Al-Qaeda.

IO further stated that the some important clues obtained from him during initial interrogation. The CTD also recovered laptop and other documents from his possession.

The court allowed the CTD to detain the suspect for 90 days preventive detention for questioning.

It was pertinent to mention here that ATC handed over an accused to Counter Terrorism Department for 90-day first time.
