ATC issues arrest warrants of 2 cops

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday issued arrest warrants for two police officers over their failure in producing witnesses in an extortion case.

Inspector Tariq Ali and Inspector Fareed-ud-din were directed to produce witnesses on the hearing but they were unable to do so. The ATC judge issued arrest warrants and asked police high ups to arrest them and produce on 7 April.

According to the prosecution, an extortion case was registered against the accused Nauman, Khalid and Mohammad yaseen of demanding extortion from trader Amjad Hussain in March 2014. The police arrested the accused red handed when they reached the designated spot near Sir Syed University to collect the extortion money.
