Attack on rally: Accused remand extended

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday extended the remand of an accused, Amir alias Sar Phata, to police custody till 19th April 2015 in his allegedly involvement in attack on “Mohabbat Sindh rally”.

Police and rangers produced the accused before the ATC judge under tight security.

The investigation officer requested the court to extend the physical remand of the accused as he was further required for interrogation. The court accepted the police request and extended the remand of the accused to their custody till 19th April.

The suspect was among the suspects arrested on 11th March when rangers raided MQM headquarters, Nine Zero, and its surrounding.

At least 11 people were killed on 22 May 2012 when unknown armed men opened firing at “Mohabbat Sindh rally” organized by Awami Tehreek.
