QUETTA: Successful organizing Balochistan Sports Festival has given a message to the world youth of the provicne are not less than anyone in the field of Sports. By organizing Teachers Day, Media Day, Shuhada Day, Talent Day, Artistes Day and Special Children Day during the festival days tribute was paid to these sectors.
These views were expressed by Balochistan Governor Mohammad Khan Achakzai while addressing closing ceremony of Balochistan Sports Festival here Monday.
Provincial ministers, MPAs, Commander southern Command Lt General Nasser Khan Janjua, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha, senior civil and military officers, players and spectators attended in large numbers.
Closing ceremony of the festival was marked salute of F-7 aircrafts, helicopters of Army Aviation and Mashhaq aircrafts. SSGC personnel also presented paratrooping demonstration and jumped from 10 thousand feet height and landed at the stadium. Cultural and local dances and songs were also presented.
For the first time sport of buz kasha was also held for the first time in history of Balochistan at the Sports festival.
Tent pegging was also presented by Pak Army, FC and Balochistan Constabulary horse riders. School children presented tableau and band of BUITEMS presented national songs while Pak Army, Police, FC and Schools bands played national tunes and won laurels.
Governor said Balochistan Sports Festival began as part of Pakistan Day which speaks clearly love and affection of people of Balochistan with Pakistan. He said purport of organizing Sports Festival is to provide avenues of healthy entertainment and to expose their hidden capabilities and encourage them so that they could brighten name of province and country at the national and international level.
Governor Achakzai said provincial government was working with sense of reasonability for sports, Culture and other important curricular activities and would continue this with same valour and spirit.
He urged the youth to play their role for the progress and prosperity of country and nation by adopting positive thinking and attitudes.
He lauded provincial government, Pakistan Army, organisers and players for successful Festival and hoped that provincial government would ensure holding Balochistan Sports Festival every year.
Governor announced Rupees one million for Balochistan Sports board and Rupees 0.2 million each for two teams of Buz Kashi.
Governor Mohammad Khan Achakzai also distributed prizes among teams winning first and second positions and players.
Later he formally announced festival closed. Torch which was lit at the inauguration of Sports Festival was also put off.
Sports Minister Mujeebur Rehman Mohammad Hasni also announced Rupees 0.5 million for the paratroopers from Balochistan government.
