Peshawar: It has been decided to impose ban on all types of transfers in Health Department till further orders. The decision was taken in a meeting held here on Tuesday with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Health, Shahram Khan Tarakai in the chair.
The decision was taken in order to collect reliable data regarding the deficiencies of doctors and other staff in the District Headquarters Hospitals of the province so that steps could be taken to make up those deficiencies based on the data thus collected.
The ban has been imposed to facilitate the rationalization process of staff of the Health Department and post the staff to be recruited against the newly created posts in the department on need basis.
The meeting discussed in detail various matters regarding the deficiencies of doctors, paramedics, nurses, medical equipments and other required facilities including in electricity, water etc in the DHQ hospitals of the province.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Health Mushtaq Jadoon, Director General Health Services Dr. Pervez Kamal and other relevant quarters of health department.
It was decided in the meeting to constitute monitoring teams consisting of technical people at divisional level who will visit all the DHQ hospitals in their respective divisions and collect real time data about the deficiencies of staff, equipments and other facilities in those hospitals.
The meeting also discussed various matters regarding the recruitment of staff against the newly created vacancies of medical specialists, medical officers, nurses and paramedics for the hospitals of the province and important decisions were taken in this regard.
The meeting also decided to move a summary to the Chief Minister for the provision of sufficient funds to the DHQ hospitals for timely repair of medical equipments and disposal of other urgent nature of things. All the District Health Officers were directed to advertise all the vacancies under their control immediately.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, Senior Minister Shahram Tarakai has said that in the first phase all the deficiencies of staff and medical equipments in DHQ hospitals would be filled up and in the next phase deficiencies of staff and medical equipments in BHUs and RHCs would also be filled up.
He categorically said that no political pressure or influence would be accepted in postings and transfers in health sector and everything would be done only on merit.
