Baton-charge on employees flayed

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman strongly condemned the baton-charging, tear-gas shelling and use of water cannon on the employees of All Revenue Sindh (ARS), who staged their protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Monday, in favour of their demands.

Naeem said that the protest demonstration in favour of legal rights was a democratic right of every citizen, adding that the baton-charge and arrest of the employees of ARS by the police was undemocratic attitude by Sindh Police.

“Sindh Chief Minister and other authorities concerned should accept the demands of the employees, so that they could be facilitated by the provincial government,” he said.

Naeem also expressed his deep concern over the reports of baton-charge by police on journalists, who covered the event at KPC.
