Bhawani Sugar Mills Talhar to start Nov 25

TALHAR: Bhawani Sugar Mills Talhar is likely to start operation from 25 November. All mills employees have been directed to attend duty by 20 November. The mill administration has failed to pay millions of outstanding dues of poor growers. The growers have hoped that the official price of sugarcane would be set at Rs 192 per maund. They also appealed to the government for bring an end to deduction of sugarcane as wastages besides helping in payment of pending dues with mill.

The mill will ignite its boiler from 20 November. Growers community leaders, Sikandar Ali Khwaja, Manzoor and Hasan Ali Jutt have said that the mill owner last year had deducted 30 maund from 100 maund of sugarcane and also received different taxes from the growers which caused million of rupees losses to them. Growers asked federal and provincial government to help pay dues and provide justice in this crushing season.
