Bids to save corrupt elements condemned

KARACHI: Proposed amendment in constitution to protect corrupt elements in parliament is highly condemnable, said Haifz Akif Saeed, head of Tanzeem-e-Islami.

In a statement, Saeed said it is surprising that electoral reform committee is going to change the basic principles, when the constitutional reform committee left them untouched during the 18th amendment.

He said these changes in constitution would allow a man who does not follow the basic principles of Islam to become parliamentarian and he would not be unqualified until any court takes decision in this regard.

He said before this amendment is passed from parliament, religious and political leaders and Ulma should take a serious notice to this conspiracy and start a movement against it.
