BISP: (BISP begins resurvey of poverty database: Marvi)

ISLAMABAD: Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon says process has been started for resurvey of poverty database.

In an interview on Sunday, she said the income support program has helped reduce poverty by twenty two percent. After the survey, those graduated out of the poverty will be excluded from the program.

She pointed out that the income support program has become one of the five biggest social safety nets in the world. Marvi Memon said timely payment of cash grant of forty-five hundred rupees is being ensured to the beneficiaries on quarterly basis.

She said efforts are also being made to introduce the monthly payment system. She said under the Waseela Taleem program, seven hundred thousand children are now getting education.
