KARACHI: Health Department Sindh has formed a scrutiny committee to regularize 256 contract employees of Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) Program, which will present its report within two weeks, it was learned on Thursday.
An official of provincial health department on condition of anonymity said around 256 employees of MNCH Program were awaiting their regularization since last seven years. He said the employees comprise doctors and clerical staff has been working in MNCH on contract basis since their joining seven years ago. He said provincial government had formed scrutiny committee to regularize these employees.
He informed that some employees had already approached the court for their regularization under Sindh Regularization of Adhoc and Contract Employees Act 2013. The provincial health department under this Act, had formed a four-member committee to verify and scrutinize the MNCH employees after this staff will be regularized. The department issued a notification in this regard.
He informed that Additional Secretary Technical Dr Mohammad Aslam Pechuho will head the committee, while other members are Provincial Program Director MNCH Dr Sahib Jan Badar, Additional Director Public Health Shaista Jabeen, Additional Director Admin and Accounts DG Health Office Hyderabad Dr Saleem Memon.
Health Department Sindh has directed the committee to summit final report within two week, he concluded.
On other hand, employees of MNCH has expressed their happiness over issuance of scrutiny committee notification for regularization.
