Briefing on use of laser imaging in policing

KARACHI: Sindh Police’s Research and Development Department has prepared a proposal to increase potential capacity and measures to strengthen the Anti-Terrorism, Investigation, and Traffic Management System of Sindh Police.

It was told to a meeting held today at Central Police Office Karachi led by Additional IG Research and Development Ghulam Qadir Thebo in which the representative of Britain Advance Laser Imaging Institute, Mark Anthony briefed about the 3D Laser imaging techniques.

DIG Headquarter Sindh Abdul Aleem Jafri, DIG Admin Karachi Sultan Ali Khuwaja, DIG RRF Dr Amin Yousufzai, DIG Special branch Zulfiqar Larik, DIG T&T Kamran Rasheed, AIG CTD, AIG Operations, Director IT and Director CPO Dr Mueezuddin Pirzada were present.

Mark Anthony, while briefing about usefulness of Laser Imaging Technique in policing, said through this technique recording of all witnesses of crime scenes could be computerized and this recording is unchangeable. He said this technique could make it possible to reduce workload on manpower. It would also reduce possible fear of hostile witnesses. He said through this technique, investigation could be balanced and made sustainable.

He said to deal with challenges and ensuring successful actions against terrorists, this digital technique is very useful. Through this technique, a man can easily detect terrorists involved in suspicious activities which will provide significant success in emergency response to police.

IG Sindh and Sindh government will be informed about what was analyzed during the briefing through an official letter, Sindh Police spokesman added.
