BSEK approves scholarships for 300 students

KARACHI: Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Thursday approved poverty-cum-merit scholarships for 300 students of class 10th studying in different government schools in the city and affiliated with the board.

Total worth of the scholarships is Rs 1.5 million and each student will be granted Rs 5000. Among them are 150 girls.

The approval was given during Scholarship Committee meeting which was presided over by Chairman Board Faseehuddin Khan while Secretary Board Ms Hoor Mazhar and other board officials were also present.

According to Ms Mazhar, the students were selected for the scholarship on the basis of their marks in class 9th and monthly income of their families.
