Business: Exporters urged to push product in European markets

Islamabad: Director Harvest Tradings and Horticulture expert Ahmad Jawad has said that it is the real time for Pakistani exporters to push their product in European markets against EU ban on India’s prized Alphonsos, known as the “King of Fruits.

While speaking at a seminar he said that Pakistani mango growers are hoping to take a slice out of rival India’s export market.

He said that country is second ranking behind India for the number of interceptions in the fresh produce consignments which needs to overcome on priority.

He said that EU felt that it has become very urgent to send a serious warning to concerned authority of Pakistan which should at least in a very short term make reliable control of the harmful organisms while export of fruits & vegetables to us.
