KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Women Wing has demanded of the government to ensure provision of basic rights, including education and health, to women of the country.
JI Women Wing Karachi made this demand during Khadija-tul-Kubra Conference held at Faran Club. Vice President Working Organization Rehana Afroze, former JI Nazima, Women Wing Sindh Afshan Naveed, Nazima Karachi Farhana Aurangzeb and others delivered their addresses on the occasion.
It further demanded free of cost education to women up to Matriculation to evolve such an educational mechanism where Islamic studies, ideology of Pakistan and status of women should be highlighted. The speakers said that the Islamic teachings are the keys of success in international world, adding that the media should telecast such types of programmes through which Islamic teachings should be spread.
They women leaders further demanded halt to insulting and disgracing women through media and the government should abide by media to act upon its code of conduct. They further said that the strict punishments should be awarded to those criminals who were involved in ‘Karo-kari’, under age marriage and those types of heinous crimes.
The participants further demanded the government to take effective steps in order to bring Dr Aafia safely from United States of America.
